Mafia Wars requires some planning and a good eye for the small details if you are serious about attaining the highest level rewards and truly out performing your opponents.

Even though Mafia Wars is very simple to get started, the game has lots of options and can be overwhelming at first. The beginner might have difficulties figuring out where to start first.

Should you buy property first so you earn income quicker? Should you grow your family first so you can fight and defend yourself better? Should you complete more jobs so you can level faster?

Making good decisions from the beginning and prioritizing your actions can make it very easy to grow and build your mafia empire successfully.

You do have a lot of paths to choose from in the beginning which ironically is also what makes the game so awesome and addicting to play.

Okay, now what? Let’s get started.

Complete as many jobs as quickly as you can…. This is the way I start building my empires. Do one job until you complete it to 100% so you can gain an easy additional Godfather point. At the same time, the small jobs will build up your money stash which will help you buy more properties. Buy properties starting with the lowest cost to attain. This is the best use of your cash right away in the game. Side note: Another option here is to save your money for a few levels doing simple jobs until you have enough to buy a higher income generating property (ie the 3rd or 4th property on the property list but no higher). I’ve started both ways. Don’t be tempted to put your money into lots of weapons, armor and vehicles at first. Buy property and start generating an income first. Family size is important in later levels of the game so you don’t get pounded by other families at every turn. But initially, don’t grow your family to an excessive number of members. You should grow your family as your income allows for weapons and armor purchase but still maintaining a decent hourly income rate. In the beginning levels, the size of your family should reflect your need to complete jobs. After you do the basic jobs that require 1 family member, grow your family slowly to progress at job levels. Use Godfather Points in the beginning levels to increase your Energy points. This allows you to do more jobs faster – thus make more money to invest in properties that earn regular income.

Once, you’ve established a decent hourly income and have advanced in several levels, your focus can be turned into arming your family and getting into the fights.

Remember, in the beginning, its all about making quick cash so you can buy properties that will generate strong ongoing income which you can then use to arm your family. It’s really that simple.
